4. Author submission and peer review

The journal strictly implements the system of three reviews and three proofreading, and peer review is a double-blind review to ensure the quality of articles published in the journal.

The submission website of this journal is https://hbgg.publish.founderss.cn/. The manuscript review process is as follows: authors submit their manuscripts - responsible editor initial review - external experts conduct the external review - responsible editor summarizes the comments - the associate editor conducts the re-review - the chief editor conducts the final review - and then notifies the authors.

Author submission: The author logs in to the submission system through the submission website, and submits according to the one-stop submission process guidance step by step. Authors can learn about the basic information of the journal, review process, submission requirements, academic ethics, OA statement, academic papers, call for papers, current papers, backlog browsing, notification announcements, data downloads and other information on the submission website, and can also scan the QR code to log in to the journal's WeChat official account for mobile phone reading.

Review Process:

1) Editorial review initial review: After the author submits the manuscript, the editorial reviewer provides an initial review opinion within 3 days, including rejection, return for revision, or acceptance. The requirement is that the article's repetition rate should not exceed 15%. If the manuscript passes the initial review, the author will be notified to submit relevant review materials such as the review form, the supervisor's comment form, and the paper authorization form. After receiving the materials, the paper will be sent for external review by experts.

2) Expert external review: At least 2 reviewers are appointed to review the manuscript, and if the two review opinions are inconsistent, a third reviewer needs to be invited to review the manuscript.

3) The responsible editor's review opinion: The responsible editor conducts a re-examination of the manuscript based on the expert review situation. Among them, the manuscripts returned for revision based on expert opinions shall be collated by the responsible editor, supplemented with the editor's own revision suggestions, and then sent to the authors for revision. The authors are required to provide revision explanations according to the suggestions and mark the corresponding modified parts in red for review by the experts. For manuscripts that are rejected by two experts, the responsible editor will collate the opinions and send them to the author as a reference for manuscript revision. The manuscript will be treated as rejected.

4) Author revision: After the author revises the paper based on the review comments, they submit the revised version. For manuscripts that the experts request a re-review, the responsible editor sends them to the experts for another review. For manuscripts that are accepted after revision, the responsible editor reviews the author's revision situation. Manuscripts that pass the revision are sent to the associate chief editor for re-examination. Manuscripts that fail the revision are asked to be revised again by the author.

5) Associate editor re-review: the associate editor reviews the manuscripts that have been approved by the expert reviewers. The manuscripts that require revisions are returned to the authors for modification, and the manuscripts that pass the review are sent to the chief editor for final review.

6) Chief editor final review: The chief editor will provide opinions on acceptance, rejection and revision based on the review of the manuscript. For manuscripts whose chief editor's opinion is for revision, the responsible editor shall provide feedback to the author. After the author makes the necessary revisions, the manuscript shall be sent to the chief editor for a final review.

7) Notify the author: The responsible editor will notify the author of the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript based on the final opinion of the chief editor.
