2-dithiolene) complexes were successfully syn- thesized with a modified phoshorous pentasulfide method. They are bis (1. 2 - bis (4 - (dimethylamino)phenyl)-1.2-ethene dithiolato nickel (BBMN)

bis(1.2-bis(4-(di- ethylamino)phenyl)-1

2-ethene dithiolato) nickel (BBEN)

bis(1.2-bis(4-(dipropy- lamino ) phenyl) - 1

2 - ethene dithiolato ) nickel (BBPN)

bis (1. 2 - bis (4- (dibutylamino)phenyl)-1

2-ethene dithiolato) nickel (BBBN)

bis(1

2-bis(4-(di- ethylamino) phenyl) -1

2 -ethene dithiolato) platinum (BBEPt) and bis (1.2 - bis (4 - dipropylamino) phenyl)1

2-ethene dithiolato) platinum (BBPPt)

in which complexes BBPN

BBBN

BBEPt and BBPPt have not been reported. In our recent experiments

melting point

infrared

mass-spectra and elementary analysis for all these complexes have been made

and the NMR spectra of them except BBMN and BBEPt has been obtained. The method has found applications in the synthesis of (RCSCSR)nM.
