Two calibration methods were proposed for a newly designed image-acquisition based movement parameters testing system. The calibration coefficient represented the ratio of distance the tested device moving to the pixel number of the images which were captured by a high speed camera when the tested device moved. One of the methods was based on vernier caliper
and the other on grating ruler. The operation principle
the implementation
and error analysis
were discussed in detail. The feasibility of the two methods was proved experimentally. Both advantages and disadvantages of the two methods were analyzed. The relative error of each method was less than 1%
besides
the methods were easy to operate. The methods laid a solid foundation in improving the performances of the whole movement parameters testing system.
