On the basis of summaring up the present situation and developmental tendency of tank defence

this paper describes the defence design of active armour and deeply analyzes the feasibility

technical process

key techniques and potential difficulties on the realization of the design. Meanwhile

the paper mainly explores target identification and self-adaptation requirements of the detection and control subsystem of active armour. The problems in- volved in the paper are undoubtedly useful for the future study of active armour.
