A new kind of muzzle velocity sensor is introduced which is a special designed paired fiberoptic one. It uses fibreoptics as its main body and has the following characteristics: small volumn

simple structure

high dependability and low cost. It not only has the merit of simple structure of coventional paired sensors

but also overcomes their disadvatage of distorted signal wave form and lower measurement accuracy. The working principle and construction are described in detail. The experimental facilities are set up and the measured signals are given.
