The paper deals with the principle and the basic structure of ultrasonic correlation flowmeter which is on the basis of the cross correlation of ultrasonic beam intensities. The first result of experiment is illustrated. Two continuous ultrasonic wave beams pass through the tube and are modulated by the particles in the flow field
the received signals are preamplified
\ demodulated
\ digitized by A/D converter and correlation treated to obtain the transit time and the flow speed in the tube. Then the flow rate is get after calibration and further computation. This measurement is applicable for the flow measurement in case that there are scattering particles in the flow
