a solid finite element model of piston is presented in this paper. Using this model
the temperature field
resultant stresses and deformation of the piston designed for a new diesel engine have been predicted. The results show that the resultant deformation is not axially symmetrical
too much diametrical deformation on piston contour part is the cause of pulling cylinder
the peak value of resultant stress inside the pin base and on the cooling oil hole is the reason of piston common destroying (the breaking of pin base and cooling oil hole).
