Aim Design a buffer to reduce the recoil resistance of heavy machine gun. Methods The circular spring buffer is adopted with throttling bar as damping device. Results The structure and related design parameters are determined. Theoretical analysis indicates that the recoil resistance can be reduced. Conclusion The structure of circular spring buffer with throttling bar is available. It is an effective method for reducing recoil resistance of heavy machine gun.
