Aim\ To improve the shortage that suface roughness can not be directly marked by AutoCAD at present

a method of selfmarking for roughness is brought forward. Methods\ Roughness selfmarking is completed by the method of combinating AutoLISP Programme with insertion of attribute block on AutoCAD platform. Results\ The design method and procedure are given ;an AutoLISP Program graph and a practical example are provided.Conclusion\ It has been proved that this method is convenient and quick for roughness markings

and can increase the marking efficiency. Furthermore

the symbols marked with it are in accordance with the national standard. This method also has a certain reference value for the marking of geometric tolerance.
