but it is difficult to be processed. A new processing method is brought forward in the paper to solve the problem

which adopts the axial gear-shaving cutter that is modified to process drum-type gear. The final axial modification of the cutter is obtained to process drum-type gear with using parabola to represent approximately the modification of the drum-type gear to be shaved according to the one correspondence of axial gear shaving cutter and the shaved gear. The drum-type gear processed by axial gear shaving cutter of the modification can be used in drive system of motorcycle

which not only can reduce running noise very obvious

but also can lessen production cost.
