A design scheme based on Internet is presented to solve the limitation of long-distance data transmission for field apparatuses. In this scheme
the acquired multi-channel data is distributed with web page. The linked remote computers can access the data with universal browsers. The hardware environment is constructed with S3C2410 ARM processor core board
DM9000 Ethernet interface and RS-485 interface. After analyzing the merits and drawbacks for RS-485 and RS-232
a design method is proposed that the software is programmed in RS-232 mode and the hardware adopts transparent conversion between RS-232 and RS-485.Socket communication process is discussed and realized. After analyzing the processes and contents of client browser's requests and server's responses
an idea of customized Web service in embedded environment is put forward. The software for the customized Web server that supports the GET instruction is achieved. The design is applied to water quality monitoring in aquiculture
and the result shows the feasibility and the validity.
